Final Update:

I am no longer maintaining this post as there is no more information being released about this event.  All evidence thus far points to this as being a staged shooting.  Expect more of these hoaxed events in the near future.

Several hours ago, a Sheriff’s Deputy for Penal County, Arizona was shot by several illegal immigrants.  The developing story already seems rather odd and there’s no escaping the strange timeliness of the event. The state recently passed its controversial Immigration Law S.B.1070 and many protests are scheduled to take place tomorrow (May Day.)  This shooting dramatically affirms the necessity of the new legislation and will no doubt be used with great effect this weekend to deflate the righteousness of the protesters.  While it is too early to determine exactly what this is all about, this much is true: when an event coincidentally benefits The Establishment, there is always a good chance it wasn’t a coincidence.  So far, here are the supposed facts.

This report from Arizona’s Channel 12 News stated:

A Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy was shot in the stomach Friday by an undocumented immigrant off Interstate 8, according sheriff’s officials.

Lt. Tami Villar told 12 News that the search and rescue deputy was investigating a load of marijuana in the desert and was confronted by five suspects. She also said the wounded deputy is expected to survive.

Deputies believe at least two people were armed with long guns and at least one handgun. The deputy, whose name was not released, was patrolling alone in what is considered a high-traffic drug and human-smuggling corridor.

Villar said the deputy radioed dispatch about 4:30 p.m. to say he had been shot off Interstate 8 and Arizona 84, but he could not be found when authorities arrived at the scene.

Right away, I have some questions.  I am not familiar with the way law enforcement operates in Arizona, but it seems rather odd for a police officer to be out in the middle of the desert, in a “high-traffic drug and human-smuggling corridor,” investigating a shipment of drugs… alone.  Is this really standard operating procedure?  The Department suspects a shipment of marijuana is being smuggled through this dangerous desert area, so they send ONE officer… from the Search and Rescue Department?  Really?  So, what exactly happened?

According to this report,

the deputy stopped a group in the desert and was shot with an AK-47 assault rifle in the abdomen. A pursuit near State Route 84 and Stanfied had ended with a bailout at Interstate 8.

Since the officer was alone, I am assuming that after he was shot in the stomach, he returned to his car and proceeded to chase the suspects down Interstate 8.  Initial reports suggest he called once at 4:30, after being shot, and then disappeared for an hour.  Odd.

This report from Associated Press provides more details:

After a frantic hour-long desert search, authorities found a deputy wounded in a shootout Friday with suspected illegal immigrants apparently hauling bales of marijuana along a major smuggling corridor in southern Arizona.

The deputy was found with a superficial wound – a chunk of skin torn from just above his left kidney – after being shot with an AK-47 on Friday afternoon, Pinal County sheriff’s Lt. Tamatha Villar said. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Casa Grande, about 40 miles south of Phoenix.

Villar said the deputy was doing smuggling interdiction work and found bales of marijuana in the desert. He then encountered five suspected illegal immigrants, two armed with rifles, and was shot.

Already, things are getting complicated.  Let’s see if we can make sense of what information we have so far.  Initial reports claimed the officer was making a traffic stop, while this later story says “he found bales of marijuana in the desert.”  I am guessing the officer found the bales and then, sometime later, encountered the vehicle hauling more marijuana (did the bales fall off the truck?)   So then, the officer  is patrolling for drug smugglers–alone–in this dangerous area, when he comes across “bales of marijuana in the desert.” He doesn’t radio this in, but continues driving and eventually catches up with the vehicle (truck?) which is “hauling”  the  marijuana.  The officer stops the vehicle, gets out of his cruiser to approach the five men and gets shot.  Really?  It’s quite a coincidence that this policeman found bales of marijuana “in the desert” which had just recently fallen off a truck which was driving only a short distance away.  It’s also odd that with five men in the vehicle no one noticed the bales falling off the truck (if that’s what happened.)

Regarding the officer’s injury, latest news says he wasn’t shot critically  (surprised?)  It was just a nick and some “torn skin.”  Does this sound right?  The policeman approaches five  men in a suspicious vehicle, and they try to kill him.   Several of them are armed with AK-47s, so we’re dealing with serious criminals and not some kids running pot.  A bullet grazes the officer’s side and then the drug dealers… run away?  That’s strange.  If the five men were (obviously) trying to kill this deputy, and they had overwhelming firepower, WHY didn’t they just take another shot at him and finish him off?  They’re out in the middle of the desert after all.  But no, they decide to let the officer live for some unknown reason.  The officer only THEN radios the department informing them of the incident.  Then he goes off chasing the drug smugglers, but fails to keep the department informed of his whereabouts.  He gets lost and it takes an hour to find him.  This CNN report states:

the deputy was located while sitting in desert brush, surrounded by cactus.

Alright, the deputy chased the five armed drug smugglers down the highway, forcing them to “bail out at Interstate 8.”  At this point, he left the cruiser and chased them on foot–without bothering to call his department to tell them where he was or what he was doing.  Really?  The people responding to the incident now spend an hour searching for the wounded policeman  (who is in desert brush, surrounded by cactus) while the shooters/drug runners get away.

This ABC affiliate in Phoenix now identifies the officer: Louie Puroll, 53.  The article also states:

Authorities spent over an hour searching for Puroll, who was able to communicate with authorities via his radio.

So, Puroll was in touch via radio, but remained lost for an hour?  Huh?  Didn’t he know where he was?  How far off the highway did he chase the five armed men?  Don’t Arizona cruisers have GPS?   Further, the ABC piece mentions “the bales:”

They apparently then took off with a “load of marijuana,” and remain on the loose.

The AP story said, “the officers found bales of marijuana in the desert. He then encountered five suspected illegal immigrants…” This ABC version suggests that after finding the bales in the desert, Puroll continued driving until he encountered the suspects.  After catching up with the vehicle and stopping it,  the suspects shot him and then “took off” with the marijuana.  This must have been a vehicle of some size, as it was transporting “bales” of marijuana.  Now, I understand that these policemen are understaffed in this area, but don’t they call for back-up when they encounter a large, suspicious vehicle with five men inside–driving through a known drug route?  And he just came across several bales of marijuana in the desert.

At this moment, the five suspects are still at large.  They are on foot, in the desert, but because it is becoming dark, the police have curtailed searching by helicopter (can’t they search for people by night using helicopters?  It is the desert, after all.  You would think they would be a little familiar with the terrain. But, anyway…)  We will have to wait for more information to become available, as there are only a few unclear reports at the moment.  The circumstances do sound rather odd, and coming at this particular time, it’s even more peculiar.  I do not discount the possibility that this shooting could have been staged to undermine political opposition to the new immigration bill.  We’ll see if forthcoming news eliminates that possibility.

Saturday and Sunday, there will be events protesting S.B.1070 and many speakers.  It will be interesting to see who takes this story as fact and who suspects a staged crime to manipulate public sentiment.

UPDATE–May 1

Drudge is running this as the #1 story at the top-left of his page.  He is using the original, and incorrect lead-in: “AZ deputy shot in stomach by suspected illegal…”  We knew last night that the officer was NOT shot in the stomach.  This links to last night’s Associated Press article, which talks about Puroll “finding bales of marijuana” in the desert and then encountering the illegals.

This recent AP article states the “marijuana in the desert” was a “stash,” which Officer Puroll “came upon.”  Of course, a “round-up of the usual suspects” is in progress, and so far, 17 people have been arrested.  If more details are not forthcoming today, I’m calling, “Foul” on this one.  A vehicle carrying a “load of marijuana” and being guarded by FIVE men armed with AK47s?  Sorry… not buying it.  And this lone officer proceeds to chase these guys into the desert–armed with a pistol?  It’s just preposterous.  Add to that his strange disappearance for an HOUR, and then he’s found hiding in a grove of cactus.  Huh?  Pretty strange.

The LA Times hammers the message home in its coverage today:

confrontation with apparent drug smugglers is likely to inflame passions over the state’s tough new law on illegal immigrants.

The article also provides some interesting new details, such as this:

Puroll, 53, was patrolling on his own along a stretch of Interstate 8 that runs through the empty desert south of Phoenix about 4 p.m. when he saw five men on foot hauling a load of marijuana. The moment Puroll left his vehicle, he was shot.

The illegal were hauling bales of marijuana through the desert, on foot? Armed with AK47s?  What happened to the car chase down Interstate 8, where the drug runners “bailed out” and made a run through the desert, with Officer Puroll in pursuit?  Hmmm….

The LAT piece ends with this:

In March, an apparent smuggler shot and killed a rancher, Robert Krentz, on the rancher’s property just north of the Mexican border in southeastern Arizona. The killing helped galvanize support for the new anti-illegal- immigration law. Supporters have regularly cited the Krentz case and the cases of two Phoenix police officers killed by illegal immigrants since 2007.

Interesting.  I wonder is anyone has tried shining a skeptical light on these events.

As of 2:30 EST, no new details of yesterday’s “shooting” have made it to the news.  In fact, most of the news sources are still running last night’s story, talking about a deputy “shot in the stomach.”

May 4–Update

Still no specific news regarding this incident.  In the “old days,” the press would interview the officer involved.  Now, there’s none of that. The department’s spokesperson makes a statement and that’s it.  No pictures of the supposed getaway car ditched on the side of the road.  No footage from the helicopter Police cameras, no pictures of the bales or the location of the shoot-out.  The incident reminds me of the Charles Stuart case in Massachusetts.  Stuart had murdered his wife and concocted a story about several assailants who assaulted them.  As evidence of the hoaxed conflict, Stuart showed a “grazing wound” on his side (soooo lucky!)

One interesting note is that on Monday, the next business day after the faked shooting, the Arizona Highway Patrol had their annual remembrance ceremony for fallen officers.  Odd coincidence.

Fallen officers honored during memorial event

The Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Highway Patrol Association remembered 28 fallen officers during an annual memorial ceremony on Monday.

The ceremony, which was held at the DPS Officer Memorial Statue at 2101 W. Encanto Blvd., Phoenix, recognized Officer Christopher Marano during a special program as part of the ceremony.

Marano, 28, was killed on Dec. 17, 2009 while attempting to stop a feeling suspect in a stolen vehicle.

Marano was accidentally struck and killed by another officer’s vehicle on the Loop 101 in the north Valley as he was laying a spike strip to try and stop a pursuit, according to DPS.

A plaque was unveiled during the ceremony to honor Marano. He was among 116 officers that were killed in the line of duty in 2009, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The article states that 116 officers were killed last year throughout the entire nation.  Only ONE policeman was killed in Arizona, and this was the result of being accidentally struck by a police car.  So, Arizona Police are NOT being shot every day by illegal immigrants.

Just 10 days before the shooting, Pinal County Sheriff, Paul Babeu gives this interview for MSNBC.  The banner, “Officers Killed by Illegal Immigrants” is prominently displayed throughout the interview, yet Babeu never cites ONE instance of an officer being killed by an illegal alien.  In fact, NO officers were killed BY ANYONE last year in Arizona (and none, so far, this year.)  Babeu cites high speed chases, but no killings.  He adds, “And nearly every one of them is armed.”  Does he mean every illegal alien is armed?  Or, only those involved in illegal activities, such as drugs?

A few days later, on April 27, Babeu gives a similar interview with Greta van Susteren:

Babeu, along with Senators McCain and John Kyl are pressing for the deployment of 3,ooo National Guards along the border, as well as 3,000 more “Custom and Border Protection agents.” All of this goes beyond the scope of my original post, and I am not denying that the influx of illegal immigrants has become a problem.  My focus is on this one particular incident, and how it was obviously HOAXED for political purposes.

The following article just came to my attention, as it seems to have been posted within the last hour.  Here, Terry Jeffrey (whoever he is) cites an interview with Babeu, conducted (again) by Greta van Susteren.  I have looked for this video, but have not been able to find it yet.  In any case, Jeffrey quotes the relevant points made by Babeu:

It was just one skirmish, but it plainly exposed Congress’ and President Obama’s dereliction of duty in failing to seal our southern border against a direct threat to the peace and security of our nation: drug smugglers.

Last Friday afternoon, Pinal County, Ariz., Deputy Sheriff Louie Puroll was patrolling a patch of desert when he picked up the trail of five smugglers bringing marijuana north from Mexico.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Brabeu later explained what happened to Greta Van Susteren of Fox News.

“This is a known corridor for smuggling not only drugs but illegals,” Brabeu said. “And so he radioed back to dispatch to call for support, and he continued to track the direction because he’s highly skilled in this as a search-and-rescue deputy.”

The smugglers figured out what Puroll was doing.
“And so they left a rear guard behind and took cover and concealment as our deputy approached,” Brabeu told Van Susteren. “This last suspect, who was armed with an AK-47, popped up and started shooting at our deputy, who was in uniform. They clearly knew he was a law officer.” The gun battle lasted 10 minutes.

Puroll emptied his pistol, then started shooting his rifle. He was hit, receiving a minor wound to his side. The sheriff’s department dispatched a helicopter to the scene, and 200 law enforcement officers were eventually deployed to surround and search the area. Local authorities caught 17 illegal aliens in the vicinity, Brabeu said, and the Border Patrol caught another 100. So far, none has been charged with shooting Deputy Puroll.  [...]

Finally, a few details.  This account, however, is quite different from the initial report given by Lt. Tami Villar, where it was stated that Puroll “confronted” FIVE armed illegals, not just one.  These five illegals then got away in a vehicle, with Puroll in pursuit.  What happened to this lone “rear guard” illegal with the AK47?  Did he just run away on foot?  After a ten minute gun battle, did the armed illegal just let Puroll get back into his cruiser so as to chase down his friends in the vehicle?  Was there even a car chase at all?  The statement mentions the helicopter, but leaves out the incident where the illegals were shooting at it.  And if one illegal was “left behind” to fight rear guard, what were the bales of marijuana doing there?  Why would his friends leave those?  Were they planning on coming back for them?  The story is quite a mess and nothing fits together.  In the end you had five guys running through the desert (who had been spotted by one of the helicopters) and yet they all managed to get away even though over 200 various law enforcement officers had encircled them.

Further Update:

This article appeared in the “Phoenix NewTimes” blog section on Monday.  It shows the first instance of official skepticism toward this case and mentions a similarly hoaxed event from 2000.  It seems the police might be hedging their bets on this one.  Puroll’s story is so preposterous that it could easily backfire on the department.

Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputy Shooting Last Friday Has Some Local Cops Scratching Their Heads

Far as we know, Pinal County sheriff’s Deputy Louie Puroll deserves all the praise in the world for fighting off five suspected drug smugglers in a remote desert area last week and surviving with just a minor wound from an AK-47 type weapon.

But we’ve spoken with about a dozen current and former local cops in the last few days (most of them initiated the contact), and check this out:

When mentioning the highly publicized (and highly charged) incident near the intersection of Interstate 8 and Arizona Route 84 last Friday afternoon, every last one of them brought up the name Franklin Brown.

(Our list of sources did not include Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, the gent in the photo.)

Longtime readers of our paper may remember the story we did awhile back on onetime Phoenix Police Officer Brown.

It was entitled “A Shot in the Dark.”

The facts of that case do have some curious similarities with the Pinal County case: Brown claimed that, in the wee hours of July 5, 2000, a Latino flagged down his cruiser in an then-unpopulated area of 95th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

Brown described how the man knocked him to the ground, and then shot him with a handgun as two accomplices armed with automatic weapons looked on.

Brown said he repelled the trio during a ferocious gunfight that lasted almost 30 minutes–30 minutes!–sustaining minor bullet wounds to his left hand and to his chest in the process.

The events won Brown selection as a “Top Cop” by the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) — the equivalent of an Oscar for police officers–and his own own department’s Medal of Valor.

The popular television show America’s Most Wanted aired an episode on the case, portraying Brown as heroic.

But Brown’s story didn’t pass muster (read the attachment if you want to know more), and Phoenix police eventually placed him on administrative leave.

Brown later just left the department without formally getting fired.

NAPO, by the way, rescinded the dude’s “Top Cops” award shortly before he was to fly to Washington, D.C., to accept it.

In the story, we quoted Tod Burke, a criminal justice professor at Radford University in Virginia. Burke published a paper titled “Munchausen’s Syndrome in Law Enforcement” in a 1992 journal.

“An officer faced with overwhelming interpersonal stress or threat of loss, creates an incident in which he . . . is the victim and occasionally the hero,” wrote Burke, a former cop himself. “The officer creates a situation in which he becomes the focus of sympathy, concern, and care.”

Again, we have no evidence at this point that suggests Deputy Puroll is anything but a stellar peace officer.

But, as we say, questions quietly have arisen among some law-enforcement types about the bizarre incident in the desert last Friday afternoon.

We’re curious about the shots allegedly fired at police helicopters shortly after the 53-year-old deputy was grazed by one bullet during what he described as a full-scale shootout.

It is said that it took about an hou for backup to locate their slightly wounded comrade.

Come to think of it, the whole thing does sound rather strange, though strange is a way of life these days in the great State of Arizona.

How the deputy survived is beyond us.

We do know this: A battle looms (among media types, not with alleged illegal aliens) local and national for the so-called “get” — the first interview with Deputy Puroll.

We’ll keep an eye on how this one plays out.

Update: May 5

Still no comprehensive description of the events involving Louie Puroll.

Channel 5 News in Phoenix released a short piece today, although these new details add more confusion to an already jumbled narrative:

Detectives said the witnesses are illegal immigrants who were assaulted and kidnapped by the smugglers when they crossed paths in the deserts.  … more than 100 illegal immigrants were detained by state, local and federal agencies…

Kidnapping?  Really?  Why would a small group of illegal aliens smuggling marijuana through the desert bother kidnapping (and assaulting) other illegal aliens trekking through the desert?  How is this accomplished?  For what purpose?  Were they trying to abduct these Mexicans so as to keep them as hostages?  Does this make any sense?

Babeu said Puroll was tracking a group of six drug smugglers in a desert area near Interstate 8 and Arizona State Route 84 last Friday when he was ambushed by one of the smugglers.  Babeu said they [sic] Puroll and two of the smugglers engaged in a gun battle that lasted about 1 minute. The sheriff said Puroll fired 30 rounds from an assault rifle and 16 rounds from a handgun.

Puroll is ambushed by one of the smugglers, but exchanges fire with TWO.  The gun battle is considerably shorter than previously stated.  Noticeably absent is what exactly happened AFTER the exchange of gunfire.  It seems that Puroll quickly ran out of ammunition (firing 46 rounds in a minute.)  What happened at this point?  Did the ambushers decide to run away just when Puroll ran out of ammo?  All early reports mention a VEHICLE which the smugglers were using and which Puroll eventually chased down.  Why is there no mention of this?  How was Puroll LOST in the desert for over an hour and what was he doing during this time?

Press conference today with Babeu.  He explains that armed bands wait in the desert to kidnap and assault the illegals carrying drugs.  Seems to make some sense, although it’s kind of difficult to imagine  armed units of illegals just wandering around the desert looking for people to attack.  Not sure how this would apply to Puroll’s situation.  Babeu also mentions that they recovered four AK47s from the desert, although no further details were provided (did they just toss them on the ground and run away?)

Update: May 6

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Department is scrambling to put this story together as doubts are beginning to surface.
Two days ago, on May 4th, the Arizona republic cited a few corrections to the original report:

Four days after a Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy reported being ambushed and wounded by marijuana smugglers in the southern Arizona desert, investigators appear to be stymied in their search for suspects.

That’s right. After rounding up all the usual suspects (over 100 of them) they still have no leads.

Meanwhile, the Arizona National Guard said reports that one of its helicopters came under fire during Friday’s search-and-rescue operation were not correct… a clipboard or other metal object within the aircraft apparently fell to the floor, causing a clattering noise. Crew members were at first unclear about the source of the noise and put out an alert that there might be gunfire in the area. During a debriefing, Castillo said, the crew realized what caused the confusion.

Oh, COME ON! A clipboard fell onto the floor of the helicopter, prompting them to make a report that they were being fired on? Are you serious? And the crew didn’t realize this is what happened until HOURS LATER during the debriefing?  And THEN they simply forgot to tell the Sheriff’s Department that the report of being “fired upon” was totally false?  I’m not buying it. This is a lame attempt to bury what was an obvious lie. If they had no visual sighting of the suspects running through the desert, then who did they think was firing on them in the first place?

Villar said the clarification never reached Sheriff Paul Babeu, who told the media of a helicopter coming under fire during news briefings.

More nonsense. Babeu repeats the false report because the National Guard never bothered to call back and tell him it was wrong.

According to the sheriff, Puroll was on patrol in an off-road area about 5 miles south of Interstate 8 around 4 p.m. Friday when he came upon five men, at least one of whom opened fire with an assault rifle.

Babeu said Puroll suffered two minor wounds as he ducked for cover and returned fire. Babeu said Puroll believed he may have wounded one of the suspects.

HOW MANY MEN DID PUROLL ENCOUNTER??
First he encounters FIVE men. Then, he encounters the single “rear guard” assailant. Then he encounters five OR SIX men. Then he encounters five men, but only one of them fired on him. And HOW was Puroll “patrolling” this “off-road area?” He must have been in an off-road vehicle, right? He wasn’t WALKING through the desert. So, he must have taken cover behind this vehicle. Right? Seems there would be a Pinal County Sheriff’s vehicle somewhere with bullet holes through it. Have there been any pictures of this?

May 5th,  Dennis Wagner writes this for The Arizona Republic: Pinal Sheriff Gives Account of Deputy’s Gunbattle in Desert

After firing 46 shots at a group of drug smugglers in the desert last week, Deputy Louie Puroll hid in the brush and made a series of breathless calls to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

He hid “in the brush?” Huh?

“Tell my wife I love her,” the 53-year-old, who was shot twice, told a colleague during one of the calls, recordings of which were released Tuesday.

Touching, but now Puroll has been shot TWICE.
Let me guess: the second injury was also a “grazing wound.”

“Louie, don’t talk like that,” responded the man, who assured Puroll that deputies were already searching for him.

Sounds like a movie script.   He had his cell phone.  Why not CALL HER?

Sheriff Paul Babeu said Tuesday that the smugglers continued to fire in Puroll’s direction for 20 minutes after the wounded officer took cover.

A TWENTY MINUTE gun battle? Yesterday, Babeu told Channel 5 that the gun battle “lasted about one minute.”

“Thank God he’s alive,” Babeu said.
The sheriff released recordings of Puroll’s calls, as well as a detailed account of the ambush, to counter what he said was growing speculation that the event had been staged. An article on the website of the Phoenix New Times on Tuesday compared Puroll to a Phoenix police officer who staged a gunbattle 10 years ago.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that this happened,” the sheriff said.

Things are starting to unravel now.

But he conceded that early reports about the incident were confusing and sometimes incorrect. For instance, a helicopter crew responding to the emergency mistakenly reported that it had come under fire. And although Puroll never spoke with the smugglers, sheriff’s officials issued a description of two attackers claiming one of the men had a “Sinaloan accent.”

“In the fog of any type of crisis – certainly a shooting – there’s information that comes out that is conflicting, that isn’t always accurate,” Babeu said. “We never, in our wildest dreams, believed that the integrity of an officer involved in a shooting would be questioned.”

Puroll, who suffered a pair of flesh wounds to his side, told investigators he was ambushed Friday while tracking marijuana smugglers in an off-road area about 4 miles south of Interstate 8 near Antelope Peak.

Now, Puroll has TWO wounds. No description of this second wound, however.

The attack came exactly one week after Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed a tough new immigration law that makes it a crime to be in the state illegally. Babeu has been a prominent supporter of the law, which requires authorities to check documents of people they reasonably suspect to be illegal.

Puroll has turned down interview requests. Babeu, who has pressed for tougher border enforcement, described the deputy as “a very private type of guy” who even turned down a meeting with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

“He said to me, ‘Sheriff, I want to go back to work,’” Babeu said.

Yeah, he doesn’t want to talk about it–AT ALL. Why am I not surprised?

Sheriff’s officials said two people with AK-47 rifles were taken into custody by the Border Patrol on Monday and that two other people in custody in Pinal County also are considered “investigative leads.”

More contradictions. TWO illegals carrying AK47s were arrested on MONDAY? But, YESTERDAY, they said they had no leads.

Babeu said evidence will support Puroll’s account of the gunbattle, as will comments from some of the approximately 100 undocumented immigrants who were detained in the search area. He said three of those immigrants are victims, who said they were robbed by men fitting the description of those who shot at Puroll.

“We’ve had numerous, separate accounts that have corroborated statements given by our deputy,” Babeu said. “There’s other information we have that will disprove all of these baseless and dreamed-up theories.”

“Separate accounts?” Oh, really? I’m dying to read those. Let’s see ‘em.
“Dreamed-up theories?” Ha! They’re on the defensive now.

Babeu said Puroll was tracking footprints shortly before 4 p.m. Friday when he spotted armed smugglers ahead of him. At that point, Babeu said, the deputy called for backup while continuing to trail the suspects.

Alright… Puroll IS on foot… “tracking footprints.” But, early on, the LA Times reported:

The moment Puroll left his vehicle, he was shot.

There seems to be no attempt to clarify this. Early reports also state that Puroll get back into his vehicle and chased the suspects.

“What’s he to do?” the sheriff asked. “Do you run? Or do you expect us to take action?”

Just 10 minutes later, as deputies rushed to lend support, Puroll was fired upon by a gunman who apparently circled around for an ambush.

Now the story is different.
NOW he encounters the main group of FIVE illegals first, but ten minutes later, receives fire from the “rear guard” guy who “circled around him.”

As at least two people fired on him, Babeu said, Puroll unloaded a 30-round clip from M-16 A1 assault rifle and then a full magazine from a .40-caliber Glock with 16 rounds in it. Then, he phoned dispatchers to advise that he had been shot.

One of the wounds is a graze mark. The other clearly was caused by a bullet, Babeu said. Marks on his skin suggest Puroll was hit from at least 6 feet away.

Puroll is assigned to Operation Stone Garden, a federally funded taskforce with the Border Patrol aimed at narcotics trafficking and violence in a particularly busy smuggling corridor.

The sheriff said the first search aircraft, a National Guard helicopter, did not arrive at the remote scene until an hour after the shooting. When crew members mistook the sound of a falling clipboard for gunfire, he said, the rescue efforts were delayed to make sure the area was secure.

Oh my God! WHO believes this shit? Rescue efforts were delayed after a clipboard fell on the floor of the helicopter?
This is absolutely nonsensical. Can anyone follow this?
It took them an HOUR to find Puroll.
It takes the helicopter an HOUR to arrive.
Therefor: the helicopter arrives just as they find Puroll.
BUT, “rescue efforts were delayed” by the clattering clipboard in the helicopter.
This would suggest the helicopter HAD to have arrived early in the search in order to “delay” things.

Although marijuana smugglers typically dump their backpacks when detected by law enforcement, Babeu said, Puroll’s assailants apparently had time to gather up the contraband and flee.

Puroll had spotted “bales of marijuana in the desert.” HOW did they just “gather up” these bales of marijuana and “flee?” And what about the car chase?

“It was such a confusing mess,” Babeu said. “There is no doubt there was plenty of opportunity to escape.”

WHAT “opportunity?”
Five (or six) guys are WALKING through the desert, carrying AK47s, ammo, water, and BALES OF MARIJUANA, in broad daylight–with over 200 law enforcement personnel due to arrive and seal off the area.
HOW did they lose them?

Babeu said DPS investigators, who handled the crime scene, have not yet provided information on the evidence they found.

I’ll be waiting for this.

Although Puroll acted appropriately in following the attackers alone, Babeu said he has issued new departmental orders requiring all deputies assigned to Operation Stone Garden to work in pairs.

“There is a direct threat,” he said. “We are changing our tactics.”

Um… yeah.

Further update

This morning, on MSNBC, Tamron Hall referenced the NewTimes article (cited further up in this post) as evidence for growing concern that this whole event may have been staged.  Hall refered to several points made in the piece and then brought Babeu on to the talk show to explain.

Babeu merely recites the same drivel as before.  He adds that Puroll has been “restricted” from speaking to the press because of the “investigation.”  Puh-leez…  What a load of crap.  They can’t get their story straight, the press is starting to pick up on the fact that this was staged, and so they’re keeping Puroll far, far away from reporters.

In the spring of 2002, the Israeli military had the Palestinian town of Ramallah under siege.  The IDF had captured three of the four Palestinian television stations.  While in control of these media outlets, the Israeli military implemented a very disturbing plan: they began broadcasting pornographic movies to the Palestinian households.  For those who are familiar with the tactics frequently used by Israel against the Palestinian people, such a thing will come as no surprise.  And they have done far worse.  Yet, there’s something especially twisted about this event.

Predictably, a spokesman for the IDF flatly denied that the military was involved in this and went so far as to blame Arafat for the broadcasts.  This was a blatantly ridiculous statement, as the television stations broadcasting the pornography were occupied by Israeli forces at the time.  An Israeli spokesman for the Foreign Ministry admitted that this was “shameful,” and said,  “I cannot believe Israeli soldiers would engage in such despicable behavior.”  Perhaps he was partially correct and this wasn’t simply a random prank executed by a few “Israeli soldiers.”  In fact, I find this explanation difficult to believe.  This was more likely part of a larger propaganda campaign involving media personnel acting on authorization which went beyond the basic ground troops.  After this demonstration of media manipulation by the Israelis, it’s reasonable to suspect a great many things which supposedly appear on “Palestinian television” as being part of a larger disinformation campaign used against the Palestinian people.  Here in the United States, many rely on YouTube as the premier source for viewing foreign media content.  As we also know, YouTube places few restrictions on what can be posted there.  With the exception of copyrighted material and pornography, pretty much anything goes.  This liberal policy was tested several years ago when Jewish groups protested the site’s hosting videos of Holocaust revisionists.  Despite the strong objections to this material, YouTube allowed the videos to stay, citing that they do not censor videos for political appropriateness.  With this in mind, let’s take a look at some of this video content.

One of the most viewed videos from “Palestinian television” is a children’s show featuring a giant rabbit called, “Assud.”  When Assud the Rabbit isn’t encouraging children to become suicide bombers,  he’s killing Jews… by eating them.  In this clip, the show’s young host calmly chats with this bizarre character, agreeing that all Palestinian children should want to end their lives by strapping bombs to themselves.  This is an absurd premise for a children’s show and I’m not buying it. The concept is simply too preposterous and such broadcasting has no counterparts in any other Arab communities outside Israel’s occupied territories.  Are the Syrians and Iranians producing and watching similar shows?  I’m sure we would have heard about it.  But, no.  Only the Palestinians watch nonsense such as this.  ALL of these video clips come courtesy of MEMRI, a media organ of Israel.  In an article entitled, Porn and Politics in Palestine, writer Charles Freund states, “The town’s remaining TV station was meanwhile running a crawl at the bottom of the screen explaining that the porn clips were the work of occupying forces.  ‘We urge parents to take precautions,’ it read.”  Not surprisingly, most of these YouTube clips also contain a crawl line running across the bottom of the screen.  In many cases, the MEMRI-provided translation obscures it.  While I cannot read it, I have a guess as to what it says.  It seems strange that such crawl lines (usually indicating NEWS) would be part of any children’s programming.  In the following YT clip, the supposed Palestinian program appears on Glenn Beck’s show.  Beck, an obnoxious apologist for Israeli excesses, takes the clip as simple truth and goes on with his breathless condemnation of insane Palestinians.

Beck’s initial response is, “Wow! I don’t even know where to start with this.”  How about using some common fucking sense, you idiot!  How realistic is it that Palestinian mothers are planning to use their children as suicide bombers?   During the vast history of warfare, has anything even close to this ever taken place?  I’m expected to believe the Palestinians have all lost their minds and are plotting mass-suicide… after seeing some ridiculous clip which features a guy in a pink bunny outfit?  Then Beck trots out some nitwit from the American Islamic Forum for Democracy who validates the clip’s authenticity.  Did this guy research this supposed children’s program at all?  Or did his investigation begin and end on YouTube?

Another clip of this same show, “The Pioneers of Tomorrow,” stars a Mickey Mouse character who instructs children to become suicide bombers so that Muslims can be “masters of the World.”  Give me a break!  This demented piece of propaganda is supposed to be evidence of a Palestinian plan for world conquest?  Here, the same Mickey Mouse character, named, “Farfour,” is confronted by the “evil Jew” who wants to buy his land for “lots of money.”  When the giant mouse refuses to sell his land, the Jew attacks him.  Eventually, the Palestinian mouse is thrown in prison and murdered by the Jewish swindler.  The sad, young Palestinian girl hosting the show looks on in calm detachment.

At the beginning of many of these videos, MEMRI claims the program is produced by “Al-Aqsa TV.”   These are the mysterious Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the supposed “military wing” of Hamas.  One interesting thing about the Al-Aqsa suicide bombers is that their leadership resides somewhere outside of  Israel (no one seems to know where.)  For some unknown reason, Israel’s crack intelligence services have been unable to locate them.  They put posters around the West Bank towns, attack moderate Palestinian leaders, cause chaos among Palestinian citizens trying to organize protests, and claim responsibility for the so-called suicide bombings.  They have killed numerous journalists and even attacked the offices of the Al-Arabiya TV station in the West Bank.  They appear to be beyond anyone’s control and their masked members specialize in random violence.  It’s interesting to note their activities during last year’s Operation Cast Lead.  After the Israeli military bombarded the Gaza Strip during the last part of December 2008, their ground troops began to enter the territory at the start of 2009.  They moved into northern Gaza on January 3rd, clashing with Palestinians at Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahiya, and the Jabaliya refugee camp.  By the 5th, they were in the eastern section of Gaza City.  They entered the densely populated sections of the city with tanks on the 12th and continued fighting until the operation ended on the 17th.  Anyone believing in the existence of the Martyrs’ Brigades should have expected a wild showdown between these holy warriors and the IDF in the streets of Gaza during these two weeks of ground conflict.  But the Al-Aqsa Brigades were totally absent from the fighting! The mysterious masked men made no appearances whatsoever and the IDF lost only 12 soldiers (several to friendly fire.)  The Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades are a false front staged by Israeli intelligence services, and anything connected with them–such as these bizarre children’s television shows–are hoaxed as well.

While these terrorist brigades seem to disappear whenever the IDF arrives, they enjoy a healthy existence on YouTube.  Search under, “Qassam Rockets” and you’ll find many videos showing these masked men running around the desert conducting training exercises and firing off their rockets.  This particular clip, which includes the group’s hit single, “The Qassam Rocket Song,” has been posted and reposted many times over the last few years:

The same people who quickly condemn any and all 9/11 Truth videos because “they’re on the Internet” are quick to accept this rubbish as fact.  The suicide bombers have music videos?  Really?  The Gaza Strip is the most heavily surveilled piece of land in the world.  Drones, planes, and satellites operated by Israel are constantly filming this area–especially the Northeastern section across from Sderot, where all the rockets are fired.  Yet, these masked guys appear in broad daylight, next to border fences and busy streets, firing their rockets at Israeli citizens!  And not even ONCE are they caught!  They conduct their “training exercises” in open territory, in the middle of the day, firing RPGs at concrete walls and setting off explosives.  How does the IDF miss these operations?  And just WHAT are they training FOR?  The moment the Israeli military invades a Palestinian town, these “martyrs” vanish!

Videos of the nefarious “rocket makers” abound on YouTube and are posted around the Internet as evidence that these people do in fact exist.  But, you don’t need to have any experience in a machine shop to see that all of these videos have been staged.  These masked clowns are mixing what is supposed to be rocket propellant in Tupperware containers on the floor.  The whole thing looks like it was put on by some high school kids who have barely finished their first semester of Metal Shop.

Of all the propaganda videos disseminated on YouTube, the most outrageous are those depicting Palestinian children as soldiers and “suiciders.”  This show is titled, “The Gifted,” and is produced by Al-Aqsa TV as well.  Supposedly, it was aired in 2007 and shows a TWO YEAR OLD Palestinian boy during “terrorist training.”

This is absolute NONSENSE and it is a sad testimony to the idiocy of the American people that we would so quickly and uncritically believe such things!  When you read through the comments sections of these videos, NO ONE accuses them of being fake.  Even supporters of the Palestinian cause reluctantly believe them.

Propagandistic music videos intending to vilify the Palestinians appear on YouTube in increasing numbers.  Westerners seem especially susceptible to this particular format.  Here we see a Palestinian mother deciding to abandon her daughter so she can blow herself up and kill some Israelis.  The child then finds some C4 explosives hidden in Mom’s lingerie drawer and makes the (predictable) decision to kill herself as well.

Are we so easily led that we would fall for this?  If Arab journalists posted clips from an “Israeli Children’s Show” where youngsters discussed “the Jewish plan for world domination”–who would believe it?  If a giant “Jewish Rabbit” who “ate Arabs” appeared on YouTube–would it receive airplay on a prominent American TV talk show where “experts” validated it as being real?

Israeli bombs and Israeli soldiers have killed many Palestinian children.  As professor Norman Finklestein said (after provided compelling statistical evidence,)  “if the IDF isn’t specifically TARGETING children, they do a remarkably good job at it!”  During Operation Cast Lead, UN “safe buildings” were bombed several times, as well as schools and refugee camps.  The Israeli propaganda machine uses video content such as this to justify these actions to a dumbed-down American populace which can no longer discern reality from Internet fiction.   YouTube is flooded with videos and cartoons such as this, all designed to dehumanize Palestinians and depict them as blood-thirsty maniacs, eager to  sacrifice their children in the most horrendous ways for the purpose of world domination!  We are raising a generation of Americans who have completely lost all capabilities of critical thought.  American high school students today look back on the crude cartoons and propaganda clips of the Second World War and laugh at their vulgar simplicity;  yet the modern propaganda offered up on YouTube is cruder and more unbelievable than the material used 70 years ago.  And Americans believe it!  70 years from now, our grandchildren will look back on these YouTube videos we are watching today and wonder how the American public could have been so gullible as to have accepted them as truth.  Maybe.

These arguments allow The Establishment to transcend annoying facts and unanswerable questions related to these cases by pointing out that such conspiracies would involve too many people who couldn’t keep a secret, that the Truth would eventually find its way into the mainstream media, that arrests would be made and ultimately, the guilty would confess to their deeds.  People interested in studying these “conspiratorial events” have seen some–but never ALL–of these requirements met.  It has been very rare for ANY sort of “conspiracy theory” to make its way onto the front pages of newspapers around the world and even rarer still for the conspirators to be caught.  Such events would include the JFK/RFK/MLK assassinations, CIA drug running, Federal Reserve, HAARP, 9/11 and the “War on Terror,” New World Order, Chemtrails, Pearl Harbor, and the list goes on.  Supporters of the established theory of history are eager to point out that not one of these “conspiracies” has ever been proven to their satisfaction and that, by definition, such things cannot exist.  They are willing to sit down and debate the facts of 9/11 only if it can be proven that a conspiracy of this magnitude is even possible in our society.  For decades now, they have demanded to see one of these conspiracies exposed, and in 2009 we saw such a thing happen.  We saw a conspiracy unveiled on the front pages of newspapers and throughout the Internet.  We saw people arrested, and finally, a week before Christmas, we heard a confession from the perpetrators themselves.  This was easily the biggest news event of the year; but while it appeared everywhere, the press chose to minimize its importance and remove it from any of the end-of-year lists of “Big News Events.”

It took six months for this story to unravel, and now that it has been proven to be true, more facts should be revealed in 2010.  The bombshell headline appeared in August and took several different forms.  Here is one:

Israeli Army Body Snatching Palestinians For Organs

At first glance, such a concept is so horrific, so demoniacal, that we are tempted to simply dismiss it out of hand.  Such a thing couldn’t possibly be true.  Spokespeople for the Israeli state angrily denounced this accusation, which was made by the Swedish journalist, Donald Bostrom in the Aftonbladet.  They contacted the Swedish government demanding that the paper print a retraction.  The Swedes refused, citing their freedom of the press.  For months, The Israeli Establishment hurled the familiar arguments against Mr. Bostrom.  They claimed that such a conspiracy would involve a large number of people, people in the military, politicians, doctors, law enforcement, etc.  They said this was an anti-Semitic lie on the same scale as Nazi propaganda, a reiteration of the old “Blood Libel” traditionally used against the Jews.  It was baseless hate speech.  In December, however, it was shown that most (if not ALL) of the charges were true and that such a conspiracy actually exists.  It was an important moment for the historical skeptics.

This particular conspiracy has been around for decades.  It has been a frequent charge made by the Palestinians, but routinely ignored by the world press.  During the 1990s, Mr. Bostrom was approached by several UN workers in Gaza.  They claimed that such crimes were being committed against the Palestinian people, but they needed the help of a journalist to investigate the matter and break it to the world if it turned out to be true.  Bostrom researched the matter and found that the evidence was overwhelming.  Israeli soldiers were bringing dead and wounded Palestinians to a certain location where they underwent “unauthorized autopsies.”  The bodies were later returned to Palestinian villages where they showed large surgical scars, hastily sewn-up.  Sometimes they were delivered in metal coffins which were welded shut.  There were evening burials supervised by the military.

At this time, Bostrom’s findings were so explosive that he decided not to publish them immediately.  He waited until August, 2009, because it was in July of that year that another story broke.  It was the first documented case of organ trafficking in US history.   Orthodox Rabbi Levy Izhak Rosenbaum of Brooklyn was arrested after a ten year investigation.

Rosenbaum’s arrest coincided with a larger federal sting operation centered on a money laundering racket.  44 arrests were made on July 10, including 3 New Jersey mayors and five rabbis.  More arrests followed.  Rosenbaum was the only person indicted on organ trafficking charges and the large size of the operation seemed to dwarf his arrest.  Still, the tape recorded evidence clearly shows that there is an active organ trafficking group in the US with ties to Israel.

The above article says that the kidney donors were “vulnerable people from Israel.”  Who could that be?  Are “vulnerable” Israeli Jews being secretly flown to New York to sell their kidneys?  Are times really that bad for Israel’s citizens–that they have to sell their kidneys?  And in such numbers that this has become an industry?  I doubt this.  It is obvious that these donors came from Israel’s most vulnerable community: the Palestinian people. This chilling exerpt is taken from the above article:

Rosenbaum carried a gun, and when a potential organ seller would get cold feet, Rosenbaum would use his finger to simulate firing a gun at the person’s head.

This certainly indicates coercion, and in light of some of the popular tactics Israel uses against the Palestinians such a thing is easy to believe (if the Israelis are pursuing a suspected militant, they will often throw his family into the Abu Zuneima concentration camp, forcing him to surface.)  It’s likely that with so many Palestinians in Israeli prisons that similar tactics are used to force these people to give up one of their kidneys.  I have yet to read any detailed accounts of these organ “sales,” but believe that the circumstances are more tragic and horrific than I am imagining.  Rosenbaum received $160,000 per kidney and supposedly paid the “donor” $10,000.  I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these Palestinians were simply murdered for both their kidneys.

After Rosenbaum’s arrest made front-page news around the world, Donald Bostrom decided to publish his piece about organ theft in Israel.  Bostrom reported that body parts were being stolen from dead Palestinians.  Even more sinister were the stories of Palestinians being abducted and then murdered for their organs.  Israeli representatives made the standard rebuttals, accusing the Swedish paper of resurrecting the old “Blood Libel” charge against the Jews and trying to get away with a lie of “Nazi” proportions.  They tried to undermine the charges by pointing out that this conspiracy would involve soldiers, doctors, politicians, criminals, and so many other people that they would be unable to keep such a thing a secret.  This is Orwellian reasoning, as that many people are indeed involved in this, and yes, they did get found out.

After Bostrom’s article made worldwide news, more evidence began to emerge about this international organ-theft operation.   The next month, in September, New York City Police arrested several members of a “Jewish gang” who had been working with Rosenbaum.  These arrests followed evidence uncovered in Algeria by INTERPOL (the international police force,) indicating that Algerian children were being kidnapped and then smuggled into Morocco where their kidneys were “harvested.”

New Jewish Organ Theft Gang Busted

More charges were to follow.  In early December, at a conference in the Ukranian capital of Kiev, Philosophy professor Vyacheslav Gudin claimed that Israel has been adopting Ukranian children for the purpose of stealing their body parts.  He claimed that over the last two years, the Israelis have adopted over 25,000 Ukranian children.  Another man at the conference said that he traveled to Israel to try and locate 15 of these adopted children, but was unable to do so.  This is the most sinister charge so far in this case, and time will tell if it is true or not.

By this point, it was becoming more difficult for Israel to simply dismiss all of these accusations as being contrived by anti-Semites.  After all, arrests had been made and there was no telling what the investigators in the US were about to uncover through Rosenbaum and his collaborators.  It was time to issue some sort of confession so as to head-off the more serious charges.

On December 20, Israel released a report admitting to taking body parts from dead Palestinians.  Yehuda Hiss, the former head of Abu Kabir, the Israeli forensic institute, described how the practice began by just removing corneas, but later developed into the removal of skin, bones, heart valves, and other parts.  Their claim was that no official policy had been established regarding this, but everything was in accordance with “Jewish Law.”  They concluded by saying that the practice was carried out for only ten years and was halted in 2000.  No explanation was given as to why it was stopped, if, in fact, they believed they were not doing anything wrong.  Of course, the charges that Israeli soldiers were abducting Palestinians and then murdering them for their body parts was denied.

December’s confession that such things occurred “at one time,” reflects poorly on the blanket denials which were issued in August.  Israel’s first response was to lie about the entire affair, charging the reporter, the publisher, and the Palestinian victims of crass anti-Semitism and fear mongering.  But, if they lied about the “unauthorized autopsies” (re: organ stealing) how unreasonable is it to assume that it is likely they were lying about the abductions as well?  It seems that the crimes of Rabbi Rosenbaum forced their hand, compelling them to issue a limited  admission of guilt.  Chances are very good that more details associated with this case will establish ties to the Israeli government and the IDF, so it was in their best interests to get in front of the story to try and minimize the damage.  But, just how bad is this expected to get?  If Palestinians are being coerced into flying to New York to give up their kidneys, what is going on in Israel?  As is their policy, Israel makes life very difficult for foreign journalists trying to report events happening in Gaza.  Many get shot.  We have the witness testimony of the Palestinians themselves, who claim that the IDF does abduct people for their body parts; and at this stage–and with all that has been presented so far–it seems this is very likely.

In the January 8th issue of The Wall Street Journal, Alex Tabarrok helps run interference for the Israelis, publishing an article titled, The Meat Market, where “countries from Singapore to Israel are launching innovative new programs to boost organ donation.”  He does mention, “rabbis selling organs in New Jersey,” but quickly adds: “If organ sales are voluntary, it’s hard to fault either the buyer or the seller.”  This is an incredibly stupid statement, for the reason WHY such activity is illegal in the first place is because we do not know if the “donations” were entirely voluntary.  The fact that Rabbi Rosenbaum carried a gun, which he used to intimidate “donors,” suggests the donations are not entirely “voluntary.”  Tabarrok refers to the “devastating shortage of organs worldwide,” and I have to wonder just what he means by this.  It may be “devastating” for the wealthy who can afford to buy other people’s organs, but it is not more devastating than the problem of worldwide poverty.  And it is not more devastating than the barbaric conditions in which the citizens of Gaza are forced to live.  The organ “shortage” is only a problem for the very rich, who wish to live forever and are frustrated whenever they find something their money cannot buy.  Tabarrok points out that governments (eager to cash-in on this market) are moving toward a system of “implied consent,” where the government can seize your body parts after death unless you specifically inform them not to.  We can expect more articles similar to Tabarrok’s in the near future, where the barbaric practice of institutionalized organ theft is put into the context of yet another “global crisis.”

The fact remains that Rosenbaum’s arrest constitutes the first case of organ trafficking documented in the US and Israel’s admitted theft of organs from Palestinians may very well point toward an even more sinister policy which has yet to be established.  Yes, it’s a “conspiracy.”  It is a conspiracy which has received worldwide attention and resulted in one arrest (so far) as well as a limited confession by the state of Israel.  It is a conspiracy which involved numerous people in various positions and it has all been going on for decades.  And what of it?  The Establishment will issue a barrage of articles gently explaining to the people of this country how we are in the midst of an “organ crisis,” and how the actions of Israel and Rabbi Rosenbaum were merely well-intentioned attempts to save lives.  Subsequent reports of “abductions” and coerced “donations” will be glossed over as unfair accusations leveled by crypto-Nazis, anti-Semites, and hysterical Palestinians with nothing better to complain about.

In the end, the Establishment critics of “outrageous conspiracy theories” who are constantly demanding sufficient proof of these schemes, do not really want “proof” at all.  For even when the evidence is overwhelming and appears in the international press, they are still able to dismiss it all as lunacy.  And when concrete evidence eventually surfaces about the abductions/murders of innocents, they will find some way of minimizing this as well.  The public slowly adopts an Orwellian understanding where it knows Big Brother is committing bestial acts, but are at the same time convinced that it is all for the greater good.    The American public has already accepted the unpleasant fact that our military has slaughtered over one million Iraqi civilians for a “greater good,” and so, they are capable of believing almost anything at this point.

The UN Copenhagen climate talks are in disarray today after developing countries reacted furiously to leaked documents that show world leaders will next week be asked to sign an agreement that hands more power to rich countries and sidelines the UN’s role in all future climate change negotiations.

The document is also being interpreted by developing countries as setting unequal limits on per capita carbon emissions for developed and developing countries in 2050; meaning that people in rich countries would be permitted to emit nearly twice as much under the proposals.

The so-called Danish text, a secret draft agreement worked on by a group of individuals known as “the circle of commitment” – but understood to include the UK, US and Denmark – has only been shown to a handful of countries since it was finalised this week.

The agreement, leaked to the Guardian, is a departure from the Kyoto protocol‘s principle that rich nations, which have emitted the bulk of the CO2, should take on firm and binding commitments to reduce greenhouse gases, while poorer nations were not compelled to act. The draft hands effective control of climate change finance to the World Bank; would abandon the Kyoto protocol – the only legally binding treaty that the world has on emissions reductions; and would make any money to help poor countries adapt to climate change dependent on them taking a range of actions.

The document was described last night by one senior diplomat as “a very dangerous document for developing countries. It is a fundamental reworking of the UN balance of obligations. It is to be superimposed without discussion on the talks”.

A confidential analysis of the text by developing countries also seen by the Guardian shows deep unease over details of the text. In particular, it is understood to:

• Force developing countries to agree to specific emission cuts and measures that were not part of the original UN agreement;

• Divide poor countries further by creating a new category of developing countries called “the most vulnerable”;

• Weaken the UN’s role in handling climate finance;

• Not allow poor countries to emit more than 1.44 tonnes of carbon per person by 2050, while allowing rich countries to emit 2.67 tonnes.

Developing countries that have seen the text are understood to be furious that it is being promoted by rich countries without their knowledge and without discussion in the negotiations.

“It is being done in secret. Clearly the intention is to get [Barack] Obama and the leaders of other rich countries to muscle it through when they arrive next week. It effectively is the end of the UN process,” said one diplomat, who asked to remain nameless.

Antonio Hill, climate policy adviser for Oxfam International, said: “This is only a draft but it highlights the risk that when the big countries come together, the small ones get hurting. On every count the emission cuts need to be scaled up. It allows too many loopholes and does not suggest anything like the 40% cuts that science is saying is needed.”

Hill continued: “It proposes a green fund to be run by a board but the big risk is that it will run by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility [a partnership of 10 agencies including the World Bank and the UN Environment Programme] and not the UN. That would be a step backwards, and it tries to put constraints on developing countries when none were negotiated in earlier UN climate talks.”

The text was intended by Denmark and rich countries to be a working framework, which would be adapted by countries over the next week. It is particularly inflammatory because it sidelines the UN negotiating process and suggests that rich countries are desperate for world leaders to have a text to work from when they arrive next week.

Few numbers or figures are included in the text because these would be filled in later by world leaders. However, it seeks to hold temperature rises to 2C and mentions the sum of $10bn a year to help poor countries adapt to climate change from 2012-15.

The Ft. Hood shootings occur just when Congress is forcing through the controversial health care bill.  A similar incident occurred back in October of 2002.  At this time, Congress was voting on whether to declare war on Iraq, but all eyes were focused on the activities of the “DC Sniper,” whose rampage of terror coincided perfectly with these political events.

On Friday, Governor Perry of Texas announced that there were THREE shooters.  Similar reports confirmed this, although news of the other shooters quickly disappeared from the news.  At this point, Hasan is regarded as the “lone gunman.”

Fort Hood PSYOP Test Fails, Leaves 13 US Soldiers Dead, Muslim Officer Blamed

In what one Russian Military Analyst (jokingly?) speculated could possibly be a “very sick” way of publicizing a new American movie opening this week about the US Pentagons decades long experiments in mind-control technology (“The Men Who Stare At Goats”), has instead, according to these reports, resulted in a tragic massacre of at least 13 US Soldiers preparing for deployment to the Iraq war from the giant US military base of Fort Hood, Texas.

From Western propaganda news media reports on this massacre the American people are being told that a US Army Military Trained Psychiatrist, Major Nidal Malik Hasan [photo top left], became despondent over his recently receiving orders to deploy to Iraq and in “typical” lone gunman fashion “decided” to open fire on hundreds of his fellow soldiers killing and wounding them without discrimination.
Completing the “new legend” (in almost record time too) about this “lone gunman” being made responsible for this massacre, the Western propaganda machines are reporting such idiocies as Major Hasan having previously “complained to relatives of harassment by fellow-officers mocking him for being Middle Eastern” (Major Hasan’s parents came from small Palestinian town near Jerusalem) and his “attracting the attention of police six months ago for internet postings analyzing the motives of suicide bombers that was not formally investigated”.

Interesting to note in these reports, however, about Major Hasan is his past psychiatric training, paid for by the US Military, at Virginia Tech University where he graduated from that schools Center for Applied Behavior Systems with a degree in biochemistry, a school which FSB reports have long warned “is most likely” one of the US Department of Defenses top PSYOP training centers and where in April, 2007, it suffered the worst school massacre in US history when a Chinese student named Seung-Hui Cho, reported to be a subject to mind-control experiments, single-handedly gunned down 32 fellow students.

Even more interesting to note is that from the initial chaotic scene of the Fort Hood massacre not just the wounded Major Hanson taking into custody, but so were three other “alleged” gunmen, two of whom were released leaving one, at last report, still in US Army custody.

Now to understand the circumstances that placed Major Hasan at Fort Hood in the first place one has to understand that he was one of the US Militaries top PSYOP specialists and had received his medical degree, with honors, from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2001, and did his internship at Walter Reed Army Hospital.

Major Hasan then became one of the top researchers at the US Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress in the field this US Military funded organization stated was:
“Center scientists are actively engaged in studies of military deployment, combat stress and the mental health of active duty, Guard and Reserve and veterans. This research helps military command (leaders, physicians and mental health providers) mitigate, respond to and foster recovery from the consequences of war and other military extreme environments that can occur in combat, peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance.

In addition, a primary focus of the Center is conducting studies of the impact of deployment on servicemen and women and their families. This research includes surveillance of psychiatric problems among battle injured soldiers, and measuring the psychological effect of treating severely injured and disfigured soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan on health care providers at institutions like Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center.”

From his position at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress, Major Hasan became one of the originators of what is called the US Army’s “Warrior Combat Reset Program” set up to help American soldiers returning from war zones, or being redeployed to them, cope with what is called post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and which according to these reports led to his being at Fort Hood to “electronically prepare” an experimental group of US Soldiers for their return to the Iraq war zone.
Important to be understood about these reports is their detailing that nearly all of the US Military Forces are suffering what is termed a “catastrophic” level of stress disorders, murders, rapes and suicides so bad that American commanders are now warning that the readiness of their forces in is danger of “outright collapse”, and which is no wonder being that in just three short months this will become the longest war in US history.

Making the recycling of these battle hardened US Soldiers (to keep killing and dying for reasons they don’t even know about anymore) even more crucial are new American Military reports stating that over one-third of “Americans ages 17-24 are unqualified for military service because of physical and medical issues.”
So to yesterday’s massacre at Fort Hood, and Major Hasan’s “true role” in it, we need to turn to a little known, but extremely shocking case filed in the United States this past spring by a San Francisco lawyer named Gordon Erspamer and alleging:
“That [US] government scientists conducted human experiments at Edgewood is not in question. “The program involved testing of nerve agents, nerve agent antidotes, psychochemicals, and irritants,” according to a 1994 General Accounting Office (now the Government Accountability Office) report (PDF). At least 7,800 US servicemen served “as laboratory rats or guinea pigs” at Edgewood, alleges Erspamer’s complaint, filed in January in a federal district court in California. The Department of Veterans Affairs has reported that military scientists tested hundreds of chemical and biological substances on them, including VX, tabun, soman, sarin, cyanide, LSD, PCP, and World War I-era blister agents like phosgene and mustard. The full scope of the tests, however, may never be known. As a CIA official explained to the GAO, referring to the agency’s infamous MKULTRA mind-control experiments, “The names of those involved in the tests are not available because names were not recorded or the records were subsequently destroyed.” Besides, said the official, some of the tests involving LSD and other psychochemical drugs “were administered to an undetermined number of people without their knowledge.”

And among these “experiments” conducted on US Soldiers by their government, and according to FSB files was a “research specialty” of Major Hasan’s, one was one called Radio Hypnotic Intracerebral Control Electronic Dissolution of Memory (RHIC-EDOM) which was pioneered for the US Military in the 1960’s by New York University Professor J. Anthony Deutsch who…“indicated that the mind is a transmitter and if too much information is received, like too many vehicles on a crowded freeway, the brain ceases to transmit. The Professor indicated that an excess of acetyl choline in the brain can interfere with the memory process and control. He indicated excess amounts of acetyl choline can be artificially produced, through both the administration of drugs or through the use of radio waves. The process is called Electronic Dissolution of Memory (EDOM). The memory transmission can be stopped for as long as the radio signal continues.”
So strong was the American Military and Intelligence establishments’ belief that only by “erasing” the previous “battle stained” memories of their Soldiers could they be made to continue killing and dying that in 2007 they contracted with Russia’s Psychotechnology Research Institute in Moscow to purchase a system called Semantic Stimuli Response Measurements Technology (SSRM Tek) which is a software-based mind reader that tests a subject’s involuntary response to subliminal messages and which was used by the Soviet Military on Russian troops being redeployed to Afghanistan.

Unfortunately for the Americans, and who were undoubtedly warned by their Russian counterparts about this, the previous Soviet experiments using SSRM Tek software combined with RHIC-EDOM technology had a very dangerous side-effect of “triggering immediate battle memories” instead of “erasing” them and resulting in masses of Russian troops who were undergoing these experiments to “erupt” in “immediate violence” which left an estimated 37 of them dead when they began (for no apparent reason) to begin firing upon each other.

In the United States today 13 American Soldiers lie dead, and many more are wounded leaving countless numbers of wives, children, fathers and mothers to mourn over their seemingly senseless killing.

But, like the events of 9/11, the assassinations of their President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert, and the great civil rights leader Martin Luther King have shown us, these Americans have been well schooled in seeing only what they are told to see when tragedies like these, and Fort Hood now, occur.

Sometimes the childlike stories concocted by their propaganda masters to explain these horrific events are enough to placate the American people, but one has to wonder when at least some of them will wake up to the stark and brutal truth about what is happening to them.  One can only wonder if these Americans had demanded the truth before if these Soldiers were massacred would still be alive?
That is not in our knowing. But what is in our knowing is this, before they awaken from their long slumber these Americans can expect many more such deaths. We’re sure their propaganda organs are up to the task.

On the morning of June 20th, Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, gave a speech to a small crowd in Baghdad. Maliki’s message was for people to prepare for the withdrawal of American forces from the country’s urban areas–a maneuver scheduled to take place by the end of this month. There was a grave tone to Maliki’s words as he warned the group of possible terrorist attacks:

“I and you are sure that many don’t want us to succeed and celebrate this victory,” he said. “They are getting themselves ready to move in the dark to destabilize the situation, but we will be ready for them, God willing.”

The people he was addressing were Turkomen, an ethnic group from northern Iraq. For years, these people have been petitioning the government to establish an autonomous state, and they have been at odds with the Kurds in that region. Still, much of the violence in Iraq has been taking place in urban regions to the South of them, so Maliki’s warning of imminent danger probably held only limited significance for these people.

Strangely enough, just three hours after Maliki uttered those dire words, the suicide bombers attacked a mosque in the Turkomen town of Taza Khurmatu, 10 miles south of Kirkuk. It was the most powerful bomb used so far this year. 80 clay buildings were leveled, over 70 people died, and 200 people were injured. Why “Al Qaeda” decided to attack a town in this rather quiet, rural region of Iraq is a mystery to these people. The attack received brief coverage here in the States and was quickly explained as the work of “Sunni extremists” attacking a “Shiite mosque.” The bizarre coincidence of the Prime Minister having warned a group of Turkomen of such an attack–just three hours previously–was hardly mentioned. However, when we place the event in context with all the other suicide bombings (and their attendant coincidences,) we find that perhaps this wasn’t coincidence at all.

Recent reports from Washington have echoed Maliki’s comments, and the “chatter” is that Al-Qaeda will be increasing operations toward the end of the month, in an effort to “disrupt” the plans for American withdrawal from the urban areas. Does this make sense to anybody? If your enemy is making plans on withdrawing, why would you want to disrupt things? Wouldn’t you want to plan disruption AFTER they have gone, rather than giving them an excuse for possibly staying longer?

The US has solidified its position in Iraq and is preparing to redeploy its troops. The bombings–which are ALL state-sponsored acts of violence–are intended to keep the Iraqi people terrorized and act as a warning of what may happen if insurgent activities against Coalition forces are renewed. This is the program which has been in effect now for several years. Whenever insurgents rise up to attack US troops, the “suicide bombers” mysteriously appear and kill scores of Iraqi citizens. When insurgent activity decreases, the “suicide bombers” disappear. The same pattern occurs outside of Iraq. Somali pirates attack US shipping, and shortly after, “Al Qaeda” appears and starts blowing up Somali citizens.

The Coalition is now planning on moving their forces North, toward the Republic of Georgia and the Russian border. The recent wave of “suicide bombings” indicates that area populations are being “softened up” and the political structures destabilized prior to the advance. Two days after the Taza bombing, another “suicide bomb” went off in the North Caucasus region of Ingushetia. This is the tiniest of the former Russian states and borders Georgia. The target was Yunusbek Yevkurov, who was named President of the republic eight months ago by Russian President Medvedev. The bomb exploded as the presidential motorcade was passing through the town of Nazran. Reports claim the bomb was “planted in a foreign-made vehicle, where a suicide bomber might have been sitting, which was parked by the side of the road.”

Over the last two weeks, four officials from Daghestan and Ingushetia have been targeted for assassination. Daghestan’s interior minister, Lieutenant General Adilgirey Magomedtagirov, and two senior Ingushetian officials were killed in bombings. Yevkurov was wounded. In April, a group claiming to be the “Riyadus Salikhiin Suicide Brigade” left a video on the Internet, warning of more suicide bombings.

As the suicide bombers proceed to destabilize the North Caucus area, Coalition forces will be preparing for action in Iraq’s northern region. Eastern Turkey lies in between the Kurdish section of Iraq and the Republic of Georgia. We can expect more violence to erupt between the Kurds and the Turks in the weeks ahead,

Message Warns Against Logging On To Jihadi College Page

A message posted on several jihadi Internet forums Monday warned members not to send emails or log onto the website of a newly-established Internet jihadi military preparation collage called Osama College For Jihadi Sciences.

The message claimed that the website and database contents have been accessed by security services.

The Osama College For Jihadi Sciences?  For real?  On the Internet?  It’s like a correspondence course for terrorists.  But this simply HAS to exist, because CBS referred to it on May 6th:

The administration of “the Osama College for Jihadi Sciences” announced that the deadline for enrolment in the college has been extended until further notice.

Those interested in applying were invited this time to fill in a registration form where they needed to give their name or alias, specify whether they’re male or female and indicate their nationality. They were also asked to tick the discipline required, which included suicide attacks and explosives making.

The “college” is a web-based jihadi initiative that caters to supporters of terrorist groups, providing them with distance learning programs via email. It was launched on April 10th.

Uh.. there was a deadline for suicide bomber applicants?  Is this supposed to be some sort of a joke?

Is it really necessary to try and debunk this sort of stuff?  I mean, if you’re so stupid as to actually believe this nonsense, then there isn’t much point in discussing the matter.  A “web-based college” for people who want to learn to be suicide bombers?

If you Google “Osama College For Jihadi Sciences,” you get these two “news” blurbs, and then a book on Google, entitled, “Internet security: hacking, counterhacking, and society” written by Kenneth Einar Himma.  The entry, on page 132:

In late 2003, an affiliate of al Qa’ida announced the opening of Al-Qa’ida University for Jihad Sciences on the Internet, with a college on electronic jihad.

This must be different from the Osama College for Jihadi Sciences, which was supposedly launched just last month.  It appears The Terrorists have several colleges on the Internet for training people to be suicide bombers. Of course, they’re up to all sorts of other evilness.  The author goes on to tell how The Terrorist Hackers are planning on disabling all the porn sites.  No kidding.  I guess they must be waiting for just the right moment to launch this dastardly plan.

It’s interesting that searching for “Osama College for Jihadi Sciences” returns only the two CBS posts.  Hard to believe NO ONE anywhere is talking about the Osama College for Jihadi Sciences.  ummmm….

Many people who buy-into the whole phony War On Terror have difficulty understanding how major media outlets LIE to them.  The Internet Terror Monitor is a good example of how this process takes place.  The Internet Terror Monitor is not a “real” news source.  The URL indicates that it’s a “blog,” although this word isn’t used at all on the webpage.  All posts are unattributed.  The page gives the impression that it’s REAL news, but it’s hardly “reporting” at all.  In fact, nearly all the posts are references to something “discovered” on a terrorist website.  If you didn’t know, The Terrorists are quite prolific.  They produce an overwhelming number of videos, announcements, and random commentary on their discussion forums.  You can even buy compilations of this “Terror News” online.  It’s a cottage industry.  This was posted on the 8th:

Online Jihadi Tell TTP: “Strike in India To Ease The Pressure in Swat”

A member of a militant Islamist website suggested Taliban militants in Pakistan should launch attacks in India to get some relief from the attacks waged against them by Pakistani forces in SWAT valley.

“Wage any attack in India, in a football stadium or a market,” suggested Kasser Sanam, who titled his message “Urgent Message to the Mujahideen in Pakistan.”

This is just… bizarre.  The Pakistani government launches attacks on the Taliban, and the Taliban–in retaliation–decides to attack… INDIA!  Does anyone from CBS even TRY to explain the logic behind that military decision? Who believes this?  CBS provides for comments on the page (part of the “blog” feel) although no one ever seems to use this function.

So, The Internet Terror Monitor posts this nonsense news, with the CBS stamp of approval.  As it’s only a “blog,” CBS isn’t really committed to getting behind the story.  If the material seems to be received well, they may later run with a “real” news story using this stuff as source material.  And there are so many “terrorist” videos and proclamations, produced by an ever expanding universe of terrorist organizations, that it would require several people working full-time just to keep up with all the stuff.  Then, the stories get referenced back and forth by “researchers,” such as Dr. Himma.  At some point, it all becomes “news.”  In a way.  Even the most firmly-rooted Establishment types have trouble buying this crap, though.  Most of it stays in this psychological realm of suspended disbelief.

It is seventeen years since America and Britain embarked on their ‘Final Solution’ for the population of Iraq.

The forty two day carpet bombing, enjoined by thirty two other countries, against a country of just twenty five million souls, with a youthful, conscript army, with broadly half the population under sixteen, and no air force, was just the beginning of a United Nations led, global siege of near mediaeval ferocity.

Having, as James Baker boasted they would, reduced ‘Iraq to a pre-industrial age’, the country was denied all normality : trade, aid, telecommunications, power, sanitation, water repairs, seeds, foods, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment.

As I write, seventeen years ago, Iraq would be entering the second week of a barbaric, near twenty four hour a day, carpet bombing, which, then, as now (lest we forget – yet again) scrupulously ignored Protocol 1, Additional to the Geneva Convention of 1977:

‘It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as foodstuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies such as irrigation works (denying them) to the civilian population or to the adverse Party … for any motive.’

The Blitzkrieg on Iraq deliberately targeted all ‘indispensable to survival’.

Within twenty four hours, most was destroyed. The electricity went off within two hours, leaving patients on life support machines and vital equipment, babies in incubators, or those on oxygen to die.

Refrigerators defrosted, all medicine needing refrigeration, blood banks and vital saline solutions for the injured were destroyed. Food rotted and between the bombing and the bank closures (latter for fear of looting) replacements were scarce to unbuyable.

In Najav, seventy dialysis patients, ‘old friends’, said the senior nurse in charge of the unit, died for want of electricity. The water supply was deliberately destroyed, parts denied subsequently by the pathetic, US-UK dominated Sanctions Committee – a Committee without a backbone between them – and remains lethal to this day.

This was the plan  by US Central Command, it seems, all along. The destruction of Iraq’s water system has been described by Professor Nagy and Stephanie Miller as: ‘a slow motion holocaust’. Few could have put it better.

The telecommunications tower was also one of the earliest casualties, an elegant, soaring, structure on the edge of Baghdad’s Mansur district. It lay, broken and crumpled, as did the remains of those who worked inside it. Iraq was thus cut off from the world, the extent of the bombing and atrocities largely unknown for considerable time. Iraqis throughout the world had no way of knowing if their families, friends, loves, were dead or alive. Radio and television stations across Iraq were blitzed so no warnings to populus could be given (journalists too have special protection in wars, but decision makers, seemingly are not only illiterate, but ignore legalities.)

Hospitals, health clinics, schools and kindergartens were bombed, education eradicated so totally that the stores for educational materials, in buildings separate from the schools (usually in a central distribution point some miles away) were also bombed.

Agriculture in all forms was deliberately targeted.

Chicken farms bombed, flocks of sheep and goats, broadly half of all buffalo were killed, dairy farms obliterated.

Crops, food processing factories reduced to rubble. A war crime stupendous in its immensity, for which not one murderous, genocidal, infanticidal, decision maker or pilot has stood trial.

Pharmaceutical factories were bombed, the medical syringe factory was destroyed.

And in an especially psychotic policy, the countries who were Iraq’s trading partners and had built factories and installations for the country, bombed those which they had built. America’s gung-ho goons whooped over bombing the Pepsi and Coca Cola factories. ‘Bravery’ doesn’t come more deviant, sub-normal and retarded than that.

Due to the use of defoliants and napalm, half of all Iraq’s trees, including the great, ancient palms, died. Remaining palms did not bear their succulent fruit for about five years.

In the tranquil, family farming settlements, amongst the palms, women and livestock alike aborted and often died.

Survivors consistently described a ‘vapor’ coming from the ‘planes, then the horrific aftermath,  affecting those living in the shelter of the palm groves or copses of trees, where dwellers settled for relative cool from Iraq’s searing summers.

And, of course, in this decimation from above, which dropped more ordinance daily than was dropped daily in the second world war, five times more explosive power was dropped than on Hiroshima.

The weapons used were depleted uranium, which continues to irradiate Iraq and the region, the people, flora and fauna -and will continue to do so for four and a half billion years. ‘..protection of the natural environment against widespread, long term and severe damage’, is another absolute dictate under the Geneva Convention. It proscribes absolutely ‘… damage to the natural environment (prejucing) the health and survival of the population.’

Contraventions don’t come bigger than condemning inestimable generations yet unborn, to death and deformity. The Nuremberg Principles are exercised by the treatment of both civilians and prisoners and the: ‘… murder or ill treatment …of prisoners of war … further, extermination … and other inhuman acts against any civilian population’.

The ‘inhuman acts’, committed against the Iraqi people in 1991 constitute war crimes which, since no one was brought to justice, one can only hope haunt those responsible for all time.

The slaughter on the Basra Road, after the ceasefire, the fleeing civilians and retreating troops, ripped to pieces, or incinerated in General Norman Schwartzkop’s ‘turkey shoot’.

The whole war, of course, was nothing else. Saddam Hussein had offered, indeed, started to retreat from Kuwait before the carnage began, but as ever, for the United States, conciliation was ‘too late’. Buses, lorries, cars were also targeted throughout the forty two day massacre. Lorries carrying medicines, meat, essentials were burned, with their drivers. Western troops took their repulsive ‘trophy photos’, with the pathetic remains of the incinerated and dismembered.

When the (UK) Observer, to its credit, printed the picture which became the symbol of the 1991 atrocities, the Iraqi soldier, with his near melted face welded to the windscreen of his vehicle, there was an outcry.

The sensitivities of readers should not be exposed to such horrors. Maggie O’Kane, writing in the Guardian Weekly (16th December 1995) describes searingly, reality. Relatives, praying, hope against hope, that those they loved, had somehow miraculously survived the hadean inferno that was the Basra Road massacre. “On the day the war ended, at a bus station south of Baghdad, dusk was falling and the road was covered with weeping women.

The Iraqi survivors of the `turkey shoot’ on the Basra Road were crawling home with fresh running wounds. Their women were throwing themselves at the battered minibuses and trucks, pulling, pleading, begging. `Where is he, have you seen him ? Is he not with you ?’ Some fell to their knees on the road when they heard the news.

Others kept running from bus, to truck, to car, looking for their husbands, their sons or their lovers – the 37,000 Iraqi soldiers who would not come back. It went on all night and it was the most desperate and moving scene I have ever witnessed.” There was worse. Think of the excesses of horrors the Western media has deluged its readers with over the years, those perpetrated by people of other cultures, with other features: Stalin, Pol Pot, indeed Saddam Hussein and consider this in Maggie O’Kane’s article: ‘

When Sergeant Joe Queen returned to his home town of Bryson City North California, after the Gulf war, the first thing he saw was a huge banner draped outside Hardees Burger Restaurant, which read: `Welcome Home Joe Queen.’ Joe Queen, who’d been awarded a bronze star, wanted to chill out after the war, but Bryson City wouldn’t let him Joe, 19-years old, had gone straight from Desert Storm to become one of the first American troops to cross the Saudi border in an armored bulldozer. His job was to bury the Iraqis alive in their trenches and then cover over the trenches real smooth so the rest of the Big Red One, as The First Armored Mechanized Brigade is called, could come nice and easy behind him. ‘Joe Queen doesn’t know how many Iraqi troops he buried alive on the front line.

But five years later, in his military base in Georgia, he remembers well how it worked:

`The sand was so soft that once the blade hits the sand it just caves in right on the sides, so we never did go back and forth. So you are traveling at five, six, seven miles an hour just moving along the trench… You don’t see him. You’re up there in the half hatch and you know what you got to do. You did it so much you could close your eyes and do it… I don’t think they had any idea because the look on their faces as we came through the berm was just a look of shock. `While I was retreating, I saw some of the soldiers trying to surrender, but they were buried. There were two kinds of bulldozers, real ones, actual ones, and also they had tanks and they put something like a bulldozer blade in front of them. Some of the soldiers were walking towards the troops holding their arms up to surrender and the tanks moved in and killed them. They dug a hole in the ground and then they buried the soldiers and leveled it.’ One survivor described the friends buried alive, who he had laughed with, eaten with …’I really don’t know how to describe it. We were friends. I ate with some of them. I talked to some of them. I cannot express how I felt at that moment….. I saw one soldier and his body was just torn apart by a bulldozer. The upper part was on one side and the lower on the other side.’

I hope your nightmares and those of your colleagues haunt for all time Joe Queen. May the specter of those for whose live burial you and your murderous colleagues were responsible, follow in all your footsteps, for all time.

These mass graves also carry the names of the leaders who ordered the decimation of Iraq in 1991,their military Commanders and soldiers, on every one of them. Ironically, the mass graves of Saddam Hussein have seemingly not materialized, just war graves and those from the uprising encouraged by the US and UK at the end of the 1991 decimation. The war, of course, never ended. The thirteen year subsequent embargo cost maybe one and a quarter million lives.

Additionally, the US and UK, bombed Iraq (illegally) until the (illegal) invasion of 2003. In 2002, they stepped up their destruction of life, limb and of entire housing projects with families within, children playing, doing homework, flocks of sheep and goats with their child shepherds.

‘Approximately a year before the United States initiated Operation Southern Focus, as a change to its response strategy, by increasing the overall number of missions and selecting targets throughout the no-fly zones to disrupt the military command structure in Iraq. The weight of bombs dropped increased from none in March 2002 and 0.3 in April 2002 to between 8 and 14 tons per month in May-August, reaching a pre-war peak of 54.6 tons in September 2002.’ (Wikipedia.)

A recent study by the Centre for Public Integrity, has also uncovered lies of impeachable stature, leading to invasion, by the Bush Administration..

‘The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them, or had links to al Qaeda, or both. ‘Bush led with 259 false statements, 231 about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 28 about Iraq’s links to al Qaeda, the study found. That was second only to Powell’s 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq and al Qaeda.’ (http://www.publicintegrity.org)

Iraq’s post invasion (2003-2007) excess under five mortality has been estimated at over one million. In Afghanistan, post invasion, at 1.9 million (2001-2007.)

For another humanitarian abomination of our time, the Israeli siege of the Gaza strip (June 2007 and ongoing) total excess death figures are elusive.

CIA figures for infant mortality, however (2004) are woeful at 23.54 per thousand births. Sweden (2007) just 2.76 per thousand births. Given Israel’s withdrawal of electricity and just about all needed to sustain life since last June, some serious statistical data is needed – and relentless and absolute demands for humanity and human rights for our global neighbors in Gaza, Iraq and Afghanistan, the forgotten of Lebanon’s ‘Simmer Rain’ decimation, by ‘we the people …’

Like Joe Queen’s genocidal actions, the atrocities committed in these countries are being carried out in our name. ‘Silence is complicity’. ‘There was no one left to kill’, declared General Norman Schwartzkopf after the Basra Road bloodbath, where even the injured holding white flags, and doctors accompanying them were obliterated.

‘Morally, we won’, an Iraqi doctor told me shortly afterwards. Indeed. ‘We are the new Jews’, is an oft heard, Arab refrain now.

As I write, on Holocaust Memorial Day, it is impossible not to reflect that is does not take forced labor camps, forced transport and Zyclon B to create a holocaust. When the figures of the dead in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza, reach six million, as the world stands by, will they too get their own Holocaust Memorial Day?

Will we all, regardless of color or creed, ever learn, before it is too late?

The true face of Iraqi suicide bombers. Two SAS agents dressed in full “Arab Garb” driving a car full of explosives were caught carrying out a false flag terror attack in Basra, Iraq September 20th 2005

Since 9-11 reports of “suicide bombings” have increased exponentially in the news. We are led to believe by the experts that it is one of the favorite weapons of the insurgency against the occupation forces, since it is a cheap and simple way to create chaos. Hardly a day goes by without at least one bombing in Iraq or Afghanistan being immediately seized upon by the media as the work of Iraqi insurgents.

It is one thing for an insurgency to commit suicide bombings against the occupation forces, it is another thing entirely to use them to target and kill civilians. We have been brainwashed into believing that the insurgents in Iraq are such brutal, uncivilized, fanatical crazy extremists that they will anything to fight ‘freedom’ – even kill their own people.

This picture presented to us by the US government and mainstream media is so insane that Joe Quinn, in response to the massive ‘suicide’ bombings in Mosul that killed 350+ people last week, felt confident to say:

“The person who can present a convincing argument (i.e. logical and backed up with reliable data) that explains why any anti-American Arab or Islamic group, “terrorist” or otherwise, would kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqis as a response to the US occupation of Iraq, will receive a prize of 1 million USD.”

Looking at this from a historical perspective, precedence for the type of bombings in Iraq that are attributed to the insurgency or “al-Qaeda” is virtually non existent. During world war II, a number of countries were occupied by the Nazis. Countries such as France, Denmark, Norway and many others all had resistance movements who used various tactics to hamper the Nazi take over. Yet, there are no records whatsoever that the resistance fighters resorted to the mass murder of their fellow country men in an effort to evict the Nazis. Sure there was factional infighting, but nothing on the massive scale that we are seeing in Iraq. And of course, how could there be? It defies all logic.

Fast forward to the Vietnam war and here too we find no evidence that the Vietcong waged a campaign to kill their own fellow citizens as part if the fight against American forces.

Of course, there are those who would suggest that Muslims are a different breed, that they, like so many other ungrateful peoples who attempted to throw-off the chains of empire, are little more than uncivilised savages and we cannot therefore hope to understand their mentality or actions. Such an ill-informed attitude however is in no way backed up by any evidence and must therefore be dismissed for the obvious racism that it is.

When the Iraqis first fought the British Empire in the 1920′s, there was no “suicide bombings” by insurgents against Iraqis. On the contrary and according to good strategy, they united despite minor cultural and religious differences to confront the common British enemy.

Likewise in Afghanistan during the 10 year war with the Soviet union there were no instances of suicide bombings targeting Afghan civilians. Here too, the Afghan tribes united despite previous disagreements against the common aggressor.

Does no one find all of this even mildly odd? After 9-11, suddenly this bizarre phenomenon of an insurgency using suicide bombings against their own people rather than the invaders appears, as if to provide supporting evidence for the reality of the crazed “suicide bombing” hijackers that attacked America – or so the official story goes.

Could the answer be as simple as that what is being touted as suicide bombings are in fact the work of US/British/Israeli counterinsurgency teams? In Iraq, are we in fact dealing with the what are better know as “false flag operations”?

This certainly would explain a lot of the confusion over why Iraqi groups would kill their own people in response to a US invasion of their country. After all, the people who are dying by the hundreds every day in Iraq are the people who support the insurgency, and the US, British and Israeli forces in Iraq are fighting that insurgency, so who benefits from the daily mass murder of the supporters of the insurgency?

Past counterinsurgency tactics involved such things as ethnic cleansing (“draining the dam” as this tactic was known) and/or the destruction of crops like with agent orange in the case of Vietnam. But these methods had little success.

In recent years it seems that devious and deviant minds in the employ of the military industrial complex came up with much more insidious modern tactics.

Roger Trinquier, an immensely influential French counter-insurgency expert, suggested in his book Modern Warfare: A French View of Counterinsurgency (1961) (Available online here) three simple principles of Counter Insurgency:

1. separate the guerrilla from the population that supports him;

2. occupy the zones that the guerrillas previously operated from, making them dangerous for him and turning the people against the guerrilla movement;

3. coordinate actions over a wide area and for a long enough time that the guerrilla is denied access to the population centres that could support him.

Remote controlled bombings masquerading as “suicide bombings” that are carried out by the US, British and Israeli occupation forces fit these principles very neatly. By detonating bombs on a daily basis across Iraq and Afghanistan and via the propaganda organs touting them as being the work of Iraqi/Afghani “suicide bombers” belonging to the insurgency, the occupying military hopes to achieve several goals:

cut off the widespread support base that the insurgency have amongst the Iraqis

create tensions between religious lines, especially by ascribing the faked “suicide attacks” to either Shias or Sunnis.

In other words divide and conquer.

The sheer carnage shown on TV back in the West only supports the idea that the Iraqis/Afghans can’t take care of their own country without help from the occupation forces or that they are uncivilised savages. This propaganda reinforces the US government’s persistent claim that it would be dangerous to pull US troops out of Iraq and for the American military grunts on the streets of Iraq it helps them to rationalise their continued presence. Either they are trying to show a lesser class of human how to become civilised, or they are doing god’s work in wiping them out.

There is ample evidence for the inquiring reader to discover that so-called suicide bombings against civilians are not the product of the insurgency. Some will say that it is the product of “al-Qaeda”, which is true if you first clarify that “al-Qaeda” is simply a tool of the very same counterinsurgency, namely CIA/MI6/Mossad. Always ask yourself, “who benefits?”, and in this case it is pretty obvious who doesn’t benefit.

For years Israel has very effectively used ‘suicide’ bombings as a tool in the perpetration of its slow genocide of the Palestinian people, with the effect that, today, the world’s sympathy lies with the perpetrator (Israel). As a result, all peace initiatives have been stalled and the world has provided tacit if not outright approval of Israel’s covert genocidal policies.

The knowledge gained by the Israelis has certainly been passed on to the their counterparts in MI6 and the CIA as this SOTT editorial from September 2005 illustrates:

“Today in Basra, Southern Iraq, two members of the British SAS (Special Ops) were caught, ‘in flagrante’ as it were, dressed in full “Arab garb”, driving a car full of explosives and shooting and killing two official Iraqi policemen.

This fact, finally reported by the mainstream press, goes to the very heart and proves accurate much of what we have been saying on the Signs of the Times page for several years.

The following are facts, indisputable by all but the most self-deluded:

Number 1:

The US and British invasion of Iraq was NOT for the purpose of bringing “freedom and democracy” to the Iraqi people, but rather for the purpose of securing Iraq’s oil resources for the US and British governments and expanding their control over the greater Middle East.

Number 2:

Both the Bush and Blair governments deliberately fabricated evidence (lied) about the threat the Saddam posed to the west and his links to the mythical ‘al-Qaeda’ in order to justify their invasion.

Number 3:

Dressed as Arabs, British (and CIA and Israeli) ‘special forces’ have been carrying out fake “insurgent” attacks, including ‘car suicide bombings’ against Iraqi policemen and Iraqi civilians (both Sunni and Shia) for the past two years. Evidence would suggest that these tactics are designed to provide continued justification for a US and British military presence in Iraq and to ultimately embroil the country in a civil war that will lead to the breakup of Iraq into more manageable statelets, much to the joy of the Israeli right and their long-held desire for the establishment of biblical ‘greater Israel’

Coming not long after the botched London bombings carried out by British MI5 where an eyewitness reported that the floor of one of the trains had been blown inwards (how can a bomb in a backpack or on a “suicide bomber” INSIDE the train ever produce such an effect), more than anything else today’s event in Basra highlights the desperation that is driving the policy-makers in the British government.

British intelligence would do well to think twice about carrying out any more ‘false flag’ operations until they can achieve the ‘professionalism’ of the Israeli Mossad – they always make it look convincing and rarely suffer the ignominy of being caught in the act and having the faces of their erstwhile “terrorists” plastered across the pages of the mainstream media. “

As in Israel, ‘suicide’ bombings in Iraq and Afghanistan often occur at a time that most benefits the occupiers. A recent ‘suicide’ bombing in Afghanistan illustrates this aspect well:

Seventeen civilians, a dozen of them schoolboys, were killed and 30 others wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself up near a NATO convoy in southern Afghanistan, officials said Tuesday.

The timing just couldn’t have been better. NATO had been under a lot of international pressure due to their random use of Aerial bombings with very large numbers of civilian casualties. This incident (as in most cases) harmed no troops, most victims were children. The desired effect of the bombing was described in the article:

The UN representative in Afghanistan, Tom Koenigs, was shocked.
“I am especially concerned by the reports I am seeing of a large number of children being among the dead from todays bomb,” he said in a statement.” Such utter disregard for innocent lives is staggering and those behind this must be held responsible.”

You see? The enemy is uncivilised, crazy, half human in contrast to the civilised benevolent white crusaders who sacrifice so much in the fight against evil. The article concludes:

“There have been more than 70 suicide attacks in Afghanistan this year, as compared with about 140 in all of 2006. Most are aimed at the security forces but civilians are usually the primary victims.”

It should be pointed out that these so-called suicide bombings seem to be a speciality of Western intelligence agencies and their client regimes. In recent months we have also heard a lot about suspicious suicide bombings targeting civilians in Pakistan, whose intelligence agency, ISI, has close ties to the CIA.

In Chechnya there have been 28 acts of suicide bombings from June 2000 until 2006. The difference is that these attacks were against Russian civilians and not their own people. Perhaps the defining point is that Western (US/British/Israeli) counterinsurgency teams are not involved in these attacks because they do not wish to hand the Russians a victory. Certainly suicide bombings would demonise the Chechnyan rebels and provide propaganda value to the Russians. This is not to say that Russia does not engage in its own counter-insurgency, it is just that faked suicide bombings do not appear to form a core part of their strategy.

As mentioned before, during the 10 years of Russian occupation of Afghanistan, no suicide attacks were carried out by the insurgency against the Afghan population. Why? It certainly didn’t benefit the Americans to kill Afghans who were engaged in killing Russians, the key enemy of the Americans at the time. The Americans were heavily involved in recruiting and supplying the insurgency with all kinds of military hardware. Now however, the situation is different. In Afghanistan it serves the American agenda to murder as many Afghani civilians as possible under the cloak of Taliban “suicide bombings” because it provides the justification for the troops to stay there to fight this manufactured “evil”. In Iraq, the goal is the same, with the added element of the Neocons’ desire to destroy the real Iraqi resistance by dividing and alienating them from the ordinary people that support their fight against a brutal occupier. It seems that the American, Israeli and British tactic in Iraq is that if the ordinary Iraqi people will not be intimidated into accepting occupation and rejecting the real insurgency, then they will be murdered. Plain and simple.

Despite Joe Quinn’s offer of 1 million dollars then, he can rest assured that it is unlikely that he will have to go and talk to the bank anytime soon.

I am making a plea to everyone who reads this, please, please DO NOT TAKE ANY VACCINE THAT IS PURPORTED TO ‘PREVENT’ THIS FLU.

Remember 1976 and the so called Swine Flu outbreak that was purported to be a coming pandemic? It only infected recruits at Ft. Dix. Why? Because I believe that the so called Swine Flu virus infected the recruits due to the vaccines they were given. Whether the government developed the Swine Flu 1976 virus and infected the recruits as a means to test the public to see if people would comply with a call to take vaccination against Swine Flu, or the recruits became infected via contaminated vaccine they were given as part of the recruit regimen, that outbreak was as phony as they come. I was one of the people duped into taking a Swine Flu shot and it made me so sick. I was sick in bed for three months after taking the vaccine.

Do not take seasonal flu vaccine if you are told that it could help prevent this brand new Swine Flu variant. It won’t do a thing to prevent this flu. What it will do is serve up new genetic material to the Swine Flu virus that I have dubbed Spanish Flu 2, the Sequel. The Spanish Flu variant will use the gene sequences in the vaccine in humans to develop more of the changes that make the virus more readily infect humans. We do not want to give this virus more human genetic material so that it will infect humans more readily person to person. This is what vaccinated individuals do for pandemic strains.

There is also a safety issue in any experimental vaccine, much like the one in 1976. Some people even feel that such a vaccine for pandemic strain might require more than one vaccination which could actually be a binary set up. The first shot might just add some genetic code that stays dormant in the body until one gets the second vaccine shot which then serves to only cause infection. It could trigger Guillain-barre syndrome, Typhus or some other condition.

An Influenza vaccine does not protect or prevent a person from contracting flu. It is purported to, maybe, prevent some complications of flu and maybe shorten duration. I am not even sure it does that. Personally, I feel the vaccine weakens our immune system and also sickens us due to contaminants in the vaccine. I feel that people can better protect themselves by washing hands often and thoroughly. People should also use protective gloves when out and about during epidemics. Don’t be afraid of “looking odd.” I would not be ashamed to use a mask and gloves. I see that the Mexicans are using them.

A big problem during a pandemic is that these simple supplies will become extremely scarce awfully quickly. Stock up now. Medical supplies. personal hygene supplies and don’t forget fido, or any other pet. Once a pandemic hits, it will be too late to stock up. Water, too.
We may lose clean water and electric power, so be prepared.

So, please, people, DON’T TAKE ANY VACCINES OFFERED. THEY COULD KILL YOU BEFORE ANY VIRUS KILLS YOU.
